And here they are:
Moon Shadow Performance Horses had Stuart Vesty out for a photo shoot! We are now anxiously awaiting the results, but in the meantime, here’s a picture that Erin got of Haley with Kat:
We were really excited to see Haley all cleaned up and looking like a show horse! Next step: double bridle, then it’s off to the show!
Here are Haley & Kat this past weekend:
And here is Haley with Nancy:
Sadly, on September 29, we had to put CMF Brittania to sleep due to a pretty severe bout with colic. Brit was by Al-Marah Canadius+/ and out of Skoressa. I think Erin said it best on her Facebook page: “Goodbye mama. We’ll miss your big ears and your big eyes. Thanks for giving us your beautiful daughter Promises who is with you now and your pretty granddaughter who has your ‘tude. You had 27 great years on this earth. Thanks for sharing them with us.” We will miss Brit a ton, but we’re all glad she was able to go peacefully at home surrounded by her friends, and she’s now buried in her pasture alongside the other old ladies who have gone before her. It’s so hard to say goodbye to these old guys, but I wouldn’t give up a moment I got to spend with them while they were here. RIP Granny.
Elle had a recent puncture wound by her frog that had her laid up for a few days, but thankfully the barn owner is a farrier, so he had her all fixed up before we even knew it had happened. She is feeling a lot better, and she has even been getting some exercise in beginner lessons at the farm. She is such a sweet and calm mare, it’s nice that she’s able to show new horse people that Arabians can be fun and safe to ride while still being beautiful.
“Sweet” and “calm” are not quite the right words for Haley, but we all love her anyway! She’s making progress in her training, and she’s tentatively scheduled to go to the NTAHC Shootout Show in November for her Country Pleasure debut. If she doesn’t make it to that one, we’ll try for the Christmas show in Katy.
Here’s a little of our most recent visit to see Kat and Haley:
Haley has been in training with Kat Stevens at Moon Shadow Performance Horses since December 1. Kat is doing an awesome job with her! Check out this video of her progress:
